Quentin Tarantino and Sylvester Stallone are set to work together on a 1930s gangster series. What’s behind the rumor and why experts doubt it.

Quentin Tarantino is known for his characters always wandering along criminal paths as gangsters. How Jules Winfield and Vincent Vega try to dispose of a corpse in “Pulp Fiction” – this scene has long had cult status. Now a spectacular rumor is making the rounds about the cult director and Sylvester Stallone. What’s behind it?

Are the two cult Hollywood actors teaming up for a series?

Quentin Tarantino and Sylvester Stallone haven’t really found common ground yet. The director is a big fan of films like “Rocky” and offered Sylvester Stallone roles in his works several times, but he always had other plans. The rumors that are currently doing the rounds are all the wilder. The two film creators are said to have gotten together after years to work on a series project together.

This is a gangster series set in the 1930s. To ensure authenticity, the film should be shot on old cameras. Apparently a previously unknown streaming provider has already ordered six episodes of the project. Stallone will only act behind the camera. “TMZ” reported this.

Doubts about the project

What sounds like a dream for fans of the gangster genre, however, has some doubts. Nothing has been officially confirmed yet. The ambitious design could also get in the way of the project, as filming with old equipment is extremely difficult and makes the finished project difficult to market.

Far Out magazine noted that Quentin Tarantino may have discussed the project as early as 2022 during his Cinema Speculation book tour. However, about two weeks ago it was confirmed that the filmmaker would dedicate himself to working in the theater in Great Britain – which should not free up his schedule and also speaks against working on a series in the near future.

Various projects instead of the final film

Many fans are also waiting for news about the director’s tenth and final film, which he would like to deliver later in his career. It can be said that Quentin Tarantino is currently starting many projects – including novels, the theater and the now finished compilation of his two “Kill Bill” films, which will be released in German cinemas on April 16th.
