The final still goes to the Golden Boys, who win for the first time at the Allianz. Among the women, triumph for Triay and Fernandez thanks to the withdrawal of Bea Gonzalez
The best way to present yourself at the Premier Padel Finals in Barcelona. Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia are – for the first time in their careers – the champions of the P1 of Milan. In front of 5,500 spectators at the Allianz Cloud, a splendid final, which gave yet another title to the Golden Boys, the indisputable dominators of Premier Padel. There are nine consecutive tournaments and 45 victories in a row for Arturo and Agustin, who prevailed with a double 6-4 over Chingotto and Galan, defeated again in the final. In the women’s final, thanks to the withdrawal of Bea Gonzalez in a very balanced scoring situation and with the third set just around the corner, Gemma Triay and Claudia Fernandez won their sixth title of the season, the second in a row after the Major in Acapulco. The world number 2 pair, who were the number 1 seeds at the Allianz due to the withdrawal of Sanchez-Josemaria, will arrive with the wind in their sails at the Finals in Barcelona. There were many VIPs in the stands, including former footballers and active players. Among these Morata, Dybala and Paredes, very happy for Tapia’s success.

Despite the obvious tiredness, the fourteenth tournament of the season (out of 20 played) ends up in the hands of Coello and Tapia. There are some regrets for Chingalan, who wasted six break points in the second set, but then managed to recover, taking the lead at 4-4. Galan makes a serious mistake with a long lob in the ninth game, the one that delivers the decisive break to Tapia and Coello, who are then able to close the match. Catamarca’s Mozart, exhausted, was moved at the end of the match. “We must continue to work to win these matches. Thanks to my family who are here with me. Having them here is fundamental.” Arturito, who speaks Italian, is also very happy. “We’re very happy because it’s the first time we’ve won here in Milan. It’s been a wonderful season, we’re doing things that are difficult to confirm. Ale and Chingotto put us in difficulty more than anyone and forced us to keep the level very high” .

It was the highlight of the match when Bea Gonzalez withdrew, due to yet another physical problem of her unfortunate season (pectoral relapse). Brea and Bea had been able to win the first set in the tie-break, after the Argentine had managed to overcome a physical problem. In the second set the return of Claudia and Gemma (formidable Triay, capable of imposing his pace from above). At 5-2, at the change of ends, Bea returns to the locker room and comes back hugging everyone, announcing her retirement. Now his presence at the Finals is in doubt. Furthermore, it would also be the last tournament together for the Superpibas, who will separate in 2025. “Winning like this is a bit strange”, says Gemma Triay in perfect Italian after the match. “I’m very sorry for Bea and the physical problems she’s had throughout the season. It’s never good for an athlete and I hope she recovers for the Finals.”
