Tapanani Kansan’s little brother Seppo was the last relative who met a Finnish musician before his death.

He was 76 when he died.

– Tapani called me on Monday morning and asked if I could get him from the hospital. I replied that I couldn’t come because I’m going to work. He called again from the evening and asked if I could now get him away. I replied that I could. I picked up the man and took him home, Seppo repeated Monday’s events for Iltalehti.

Seppo did not notice anything special about Tapan’s well -being. Yes, Tapani complained about stomach pains as he had recently been carried out a gallbladder removal surgery. Seppo spent about an hour and a half with Tapan.

– He said he was sore, but it’s no wonder if there are nine holes in the stomach. He was quite well -off and said only that as long as this is being overcome, he would be rehabilitated. I said we were rehabilitating with a group when I was a retiree. I have time to jog, Seppo continues.

At night, Tapani had called an ambulance.

– The fatigue and the feeling of being sick came then at midnight when he called himself an ambulance. I know nothing more than that an emergency surgery was done. Hard to say anything else. The rest is known when it comes to autopsy diagnosis, Seppo says.

Seppo heard about the death of his big brother from Tapan’s long -time spouse Nina af Enehjelm.

“After all, this is horrible when I’m the last relative who met him,” Seppo says.

At work at Tapsa

– We were close brothers because I was in Tapani for so long. From the age of 14, I was on his summer job and when I got a driving license, I was a gig. We spun Juha-With brother, audio, lights and whole show equipment, Seppo recalls his brother.

According to Seppo, all siblings worked under Tapan. However, Tapani did not boss his siblings.

– We had quite free hands. Tapani said, “You can do these boys, do not ask me.” Well, we went well and it was great that there was a close relationship at that time, Seppo continues.

Tapani and Seppo spent a lot of time together in recent years.

– It was great when Tapani moved to Kotka to live, and we met, if not daily, at least weekly. I did Tapani’s home renovation and everything the brother asked for.

– I was also Tapan’s court patrol because I’m a barber by my profession. Last week and a half ago, I cut his hair here, Seppo adds.

Seppo has warmly watched Finnish writings and read the memoirs of the colleagues of musician colleagues. He is a little surprised at how many people wanted to remember his brother with such a good time.

– Life goes on and the songs live. He was a good brother, cannot be blamed. After all, you can look for it as a singer and artist, Seppo concludes.
