Doug Martin is dead. During his years in the best football league in the world he made a big impression.
Former running back Doug Martin has died at just 36 years old. The player’s family told the Tampa Bay Times. Accordingly, the long-time Buccaneers player died on Saturday. “The cause of death is currently unconfirmed,” the statement said: “Please respect our privacy during this time.”
The Buccaneers said they were “deeply saddened” by Martin’s death. “He was a fan favorite during his time in Tampa Bay and was honored as one of the 50 Greatest Buccaneers of All Time for his numerous accomplishments,” the franchise wrote.
Martin spent six of his seven seasons in Tampa Bay, ending his career with the then Oakland Raiders in 2018. The running back gained a total of 5,356 yards and 30 touchdowns in the NFL.
