After stopping Chateau Meiland, Talpa would like to continue with the Meilandjes, but what does the reality family think about this? What do they want and what do they not want? “In any case, no longer reality.”
After the Christmas special, it’s over for Chateau Meiland. The ratings hit is coming to an end, but the Meilandjes have not closed the TV door. And Talpa also really wants to continue with Martien Meiland and his family. “We are letting it happen to us. We have already had some offers, but we turned them down,” says Erica in the A.D.
Talpa wants to continue
Erica states that Talpa is seriously interested in continuing the collaboration. “Talpa would like to do something with us, and we have said that we want to think about everything, but not reality. It is now finally time to do nothing at all.”
“We never go on holiday, because we are also working abroad. We want to relax. The ideas that used to bubble up have now been crushed to death. It has to be free in the head.”
Good viewing figures
Many people find it strange that the Meilandjes choose to give up those TV barrels. But reality is no longer possible, says Martien. “Now it’s a boring thing. When we have guests in the boarding house (…) I get out of bed at half past six, then in the afternoon I’m completely fed up. I lie down for a while. Well, what kind of reality do you have to make then?”
Erica concludes: “We still have good viewing figures. You shouldn’t wait until it goes down. We were above the million every time. But in terms of reality, the book is now really closed.”
