Talpa has banned René van der Gijp from taking part in Eva Jinek’s talk show together with his friends Wim Kieft, Michel van Egmond and Rob Jansen to promote their podcast.

Eva Jinek walked into her last night talk show of the same name facing a double Talpa ban. During the interview with Malou Petter – who explained for the umpteenth time why she resigned from News of the Day, bore — Talpa did not allow her to show images of the SBS 6 program, and during the subsequent topic it was also a hit.

Gib is not allowed

Good friends Wim Kieft, Michel van Egmond and Rob Jansen sat at Eva’s table for the final item to promote the podcast named after themselves, but René van der Gijp is also part of the quartet. Although he was welcome at the table and wanted to come himself, Talpa did not allow him to go there.

Hostess Eva explains: “We naturally invited René van der Gijp. He really wanted to join us, but his employer Talpa wouldn’t let him. Do you miss him not being there?”

‘We miss him!’

Wim immediately indicates that he misses René. “Yes, always.”

Eva: “What usually happens when he comes in?”

Michel: “He usually talks through it. Through all of us, yes. René sets the atmosphere and mood for us.”

Eva: “Has it always been that way?”

Michel: “I think that has always been the case and René is used to that too and we will keep it that way.”

Eva: “You shouldn’t try to block that?”

‘That is the basis’

No, Michel answers. “I think it’s the basis of our friendship anyway, that we don’t try to change each other. We’re all pretty strange little guys and we don’t try to change that in each other.”

Eva: “Rob, René is of course a master storyteller, even if he is telling a story for the thirteenth time.”

First time

Rob agrees with Eva’s observation. “Yes, then we also listen to him as if we think: this is the first time. He always adds a different nuance to the story and he likes his own story the best, so that is also infectious.”

Eva concludes: “But you notice it, because when he starts laughing, you automatically join in. I always do that when I hear him.”

And when Johan Derksen then speaks? Then she quickly stops laughing…
