Talented Silvano Vos steals the hearts of Ajax fans: “I notice it too”

Silvano Vos’ development is going really fast. The only 18-year-old midfielder offers Ajax hope in anxious days. He is already considered a crowd favorite among supporters and that has everything to do with his way of playing. “I am being recognized more and more on the street,” says Vos about his growing fame.

Despite the fact that he only played eight games in Ajax’s main squad, the fans are already loving Vos. His fighting mentality gave the supporters hope and they also saw that Ajax’s youth academy still has value. He immediately gave his calling card against Olympique Marseille in the Europa League: “I came on nicely,” says Vos.

“I have to continue this line,” says the young midfielder, who made a special statement last week. He wanted to win the Champions League with Ajax and then move to Real Madrid. “That is my dream. It is pretended that I said that I now want to win the Champions League, but that is absolutely not the case,” says Vos, who notices that these types of statements are immediately put under a magnifying glass.

Flow of talents

Trainer Dave Vos also sees that talents have recently broken through into Ajax’s first team. At Jong Ajax he recently had Vos, Ar’Jany Martha and Kristian Hlynsson under his wing, but they have recently been regularly transferred to the first team. “I think eight self-trained players have been playing in recent weeks. Ours core business is preparing players for the first team. We cannot complain about that at the moment,” says Vos.

The coach also made the switch from the promises to the big Ajax for a week. After Maurice Steijn was fired, Vos suddenly became the assistant of interim coach Hedwiges Maduro. “In that phase you obviously help the club. It was very clearly agreed that it was for that week.”
