Actor Taina Elg is dead, says Helsingin Sanomat.

Dancer and actor Taina Elg has died at the age of 95 in Helsinki. He died on May 15. Helsingin Sanomat reported.

Elg spent his last years in a nursing home in Helsinki. He was born in 1930 in Helsinki.

Elg grew up in an artist family. His mother was a Russian pianist Helena Doroumova and the father of the pianist Åke Elg. Elg danced ballet and played at a young age. He was attached to the National Ballet at a young age.

In the 1950s, Elg struck through Hollywood. Since then, his career and life were actively followed both in Finland and internationally. In addition to Elg, no Finnish actress has since made a similar breakthrough in the United States.

Elg, who started her career as a ballet dancer, appeared in European countries before signing an agreement with MGM.

Elg ended up working in Gothenburg, which was his springboard for the world. Elg found a mesenate in Sweden, which paid him postgraduate studies in the UK. Elg headed to London, Sadler Wells, Ballet School, from where he continued to Monte Carlo in 1949.
