Rad star falls heavily and drives bleeding to victory

Once again, Tadej Pogačar showed his class. He fell heavily during the one -day race through the Tuscany and fought back with wounds.
It is a scene that shocked. At the one-day race Strade Bianche, cycling star Tadej Pogačar slid away 50 kilometers in front of the finish in a curve and slid over the asphalt. Then he flew off the bike and into a neighboring meadow next to the route. Competitor Tom Pidcock passed and took the lead. Pogačar put on the catch -up and caught Pidcock again and caught the victory with bleeding arms and with bleeding arms.
The Slovenian triumphed in Siena after 213 kilometers and 5:13:59 hours and already won his third success in this one -day race through the Tuscany. After that, however, he honestly said: “I enjoyed it until I crossed the finish line. Now I am in adrenaline mining and starting to feel a lot of pain.” The Team-de-France winner from the UAE Emirates-XRG team had driven to the finish line with torn world champion jersey and, among other things, bleeding shoulder.
Pogačar added: “Not the best way to win a race, but a victory is a victory.” The fall “worried”, but ultimately did not stop him. Now the 25-year-old hopes that his injuries are not more serious than initially assumed.
In two weeks, the next important race will be on the program for the Rad superstar with Milan-Sanremo. It is one of two monuments of cycling that he still lacks in his title collection. In addition to Milan-Sanremo, Pogačar has not yet won Paris-Roubaix.
He recently said the “L’Equipe”: “I love the classics. They are pure adrenaline. A one -day shock that has nothing to do with suffering for three weeks.”
