The German men’s national table tennis team is just one victory away from the medal they hope for at the World Team Championships in London.
Benedikt Duda, Dang Qiu and Patrick Franziska advanced to the quarterfinals with a 3-0 win against Hong Kong.
The next opponent there is Japan. The German team won 3-2 in the group phase last Saturday against the co-favorites at this World Cup. At major table tennis tournaments, both semi-final losers receive a medal. There is no special competition for third place.
