For her current film project, a film about a female boxer, Sydney Sweeney has also prepared herself physically for the shoot and is now promptly receiving a load of hate and body-shaming comments on the Internet after paparazzi photos of herself in a bikini. Her answer: An Instagram post in which she shares the ugly verbal posts including the author, followed by photos and clips showing the actress training for the role.
From Cassie Howard to Christy Martin
The 27-year-old has made a name for herself in the Hollywood industry since her breakout role as the naive Cassie Howard in the series “Euphoria.” Since then she has appeared in “Anyone But You”, “The White Lotus” and “Madame Web”, among others. For her new film, Sweeney takes on the role of US boxer Christy Martin. In order to live up to the real role model, the actress has to go through a tough workout. But the internet doesn’t want to know anything about it…
Paparazzi in the garden
Paparazzi photos of Sweeney in a bikini sunbathing in her own garden were published via the Daily Mail. And the internet immediately went wild over the “Euphoria” actress’ new physical features. One of the internet trolls posted the images on the X platform along with a photo of Sydney Sweeney in a red tight dress and makeup and commented: “This should be illegal. Something like that is the cause of misogyny.” And further: “She is ugly in both photos.” Many other people felt they had the right to comment on the actress’ body on social media. Captions like “medium size,” “shabby,” “a five at best,” “clumsy” and “very chunky” can be found alongside the paparazzi photos on the Internet.
Not with Sweeney!
But Sweeney didn’t let that go easily. Instead of simply accepting the comments and the intrusion into her private life, she shared the body-shaming posts on her Instagram account and denounced the haters. She asked the other person about her training life and thus provided context without having to write anything about it.
