Ten years after her debut in the World Cup, Elena Stoffel ended her career on Sunday. The association thanked her for her achievements.

For the Swiss Elena Stoffel, a circle closed on Sunday at the slalom in Åre in Sweden. This is exactly where the ski racer gave her World Cup debut in 2015. Now she announced her end of her career there ten years later.

A photo of the Swiss Ski Association reposted on Instagram. On this the ski racer can be seen in full equipment on the snow -covered ski slope in Åre in the run. Stoffel wears a red team jacket with sponsor logos, gray ski pants and white ski gloves. In one hand she holds a pink drinking bottle and a ski rock, in the other hand she lifts a ski up. The goal of the racing course can be seen in the background.

Elena Stoffel wrote about the snapshot that marked the end of her sporting career: “The Last Dance” (in German: “The Last Dance”). The Swiss association also spoke of an “emotional day” and also wrote: “All the best for the future and good luck on your new way.”

In February the ski ace posted a photo and wrote: “The last few weeks have been hard, but every challenge is an opportunity to grow and improve.” Now Stoffers has decided not to run races in terms of sport. In her Instagram story, she also shared videos of friends and colleagues who say goodbye to her.
