Sweet air leads to illegal production of hookah tobacco in private home

The police found a large amount of illegal hookah tobacco in a house in Uden on Tuesday. The municipality of Uden announced this on Friday. There were also materials with which such tobacco can be made. A tip about a sweet, anise-like smell eventually led the police to the illegal production site.

Such a typical sweet smell can indicate drug production. An anonymous tip put police on the right track. Customs was also involved in the raid on the house. They found a large quantity of hookah tobacco, which was also made there on site.

Customs seized the hookah tobacco and all materials. It is not yet clear whether anyone has been arrested. However, a fine was imposed for non-payment of excise duty.

Another house in Uden was also linked to the place where the water pipe tobacco was found. After an inspection, nothing was wrong in that house.
