The research of Exhibition Show how the young person tried to recruit other young people through multiple social media accounts. The person’s private account was followed by family members, including the minister, and by people with ties with extreme right -wing groups.

The young person was mainly active in the growing Nazi network Aktivklubb Sweden, which is considered violent by the Swedish intelligence service. This group would have been busy mapping government officials for some time, with the aim of exerting more influence.

In addition, the seventeen -year -old contact with activists from the Nazi organization Nordic Resistance Movement, which was considered by the United States as a terrorist organization.

In the extreme right -wing chats, the young person wrote that “the imported violence must disappear” and that “it is time for us Europeans to fight back”. Videos were also shared showing how the person in a residential area distributes stickers with the text ‘White Zone’.

‘Confirm nor deny’

Exhibition The minister concerned asked for a response, but he does not want to comment on the article. According to the medium, the Swedish security service Säpo was not aware of the direct bond between the minister and the boy.

In a response to the TT news agency, Säpo press officer Johan Wikström says “neither the information neither confirm nor to deny,” but “constantly working on monitoring violent extremist environments.”

The right -wing Swedish government consists of ministers of three different parties: the moderates, the liberals and the Christian Democrats. The extreme right -wing government support Sweden Democrats does not deliver ministers to the current cabinet.

Radicalizing young people

Sweden has been struggling with problems with radicalizing young people for some time. More and more often they are commissioning violent crimes on behalf of gangs and other criminal organizations. Boys and girls are often recruited via social media and game platforms.

The names of the minister, the family member and their precise relationship were not disclosed because of strict Swedish publicity guidelines.
