Sven Roes and Sjinkie Knegt to semifinal 1500 meters, Itzhak de Laat eliminated | Olympics

Of the Dutch, Roes was the first to take action. He dared to wait a long time and gamble on his specialty: a late overtaking maneuver outside. Only at the start of the last round did Roes start his attack and without any problems he drove to the semi-finals.

Itzhak de Laat was the next to hit the track. Unlike Roes, he went straight into the first, but after some back-and-forth yo-yoing, he crashed after being taken by the falling Denis Nikisha.

Sjinkie Knegt was in the fifth quarterfinal. Early in the race, Knegt took the lead with a nice overtaking action. He did not relinquish that place, so that he rode very solidly to the semi-finals.
