SVBO takes point at leader, hard-fought victory WKE’16 and easy for HOC

FOOTBALL – In Sunday football, a number of make-up matches were scheduled for tonight. For example, SVBO played in the 1st class F with leader WVV, second class team WKE’16 visited Peize and CEC faced HOC in the 3rd class C.

1F: WVV – SVBO
In the 1st class F, SVBO took a nice point tonight at leader WVV in Winschoten. After a 0-0 halftime score it became 1-1. Because of this result, WVV remains the leader with 19 points from 9 matches and SVBO is in 5th place, with 14 points from 9 matches.

“It was a justified point”, said SVBO trainer Marc Hegeman. “You sign for this in advance, although there may have been more in it. Especially when they were faced with ten men shortly before half-time after a justified red card for Bert-Jan Haaijer. Via Davy Wessels we then had a good chance at the 0-0. 1, but we didn’t score. Furthermore, it was difficult to play against a wall of the home team, especially when they took the lead in the 65th minute due to a mistake by our goalkeeper.”

Hegeman threw defender Maurice Kampman in the vanguard in the final phase and that resulted in the equalizer of the same Kampman ten minutes before the end.

“An excellent point therefore,” said Hegeman. “But it has cut in. Two duels within five days after a long period without competition football. Let’s just hope that my men are fit again on Sunday, because then we will visit another high flyer, VKW.”

2nd class L: Peize – WKE’16
WKE’16 booked a hard-fought victory at Peize tonight: 0-1. The only goal of the match fell before half-time and came from Josef Brink’s foot. At that moment, the team from Emmen was deserved, but after the break, the team of coach Albert Koops was severely crushed. The home club insisted, but was unable to prevent a defeat.

With the win, WKE’16 is three points behind leader GVAV-Rapiditas, with 19 points from 9 matches. GVAV has 22 out of 8 and Valthermond is in second place with 20 out of 8. Next Sunday WKE’16 – Valthermond is on the program.

3rd class C: CEC – HOC
HOC had no child at CEC tonight. The fucieclub from Odoorn/Exloo won 6-0, after a halftime score of 4-0. Frank Fokke was the big man on the side of the guests. He scored three times. The other goals for the team of coach Bas Nibbelke were scored by Hans de Poel, Gerben Beek and Richard Wiggers.

With the win, HOC recovered from last Sunday’s defeat at leader Musselkanaal. The gap with that club is now one point. Musselkanaal is on 19 points from 7 matches. HOC has 18 out of 8, followed by Twedo with 17 out of 7. Next Sunday, HOC will play at home against Twedo.

4th class D: VIOS – Titan
With his eleventh league goal of the season, Harmjan Moesker once again played an important role in Titan’s sixth win of the season, against VIOS Oosterhesselen. It was 1-3 for the team from Nieuw-Weerdinge, which climbs to place 2 in the 4th division D thanks to the victory. The gap with leader Sleen is two points, but Titan has played two games less.

Jos Smit opened the score for Titan, who was doubled by Moesker before half time. In the second half, Julian Bruining decided the game before the home team managed to save the honour.
