There are turbulent days behind SV Sandhausen. The club has relegated from the 3rd league. Now it is clear how it should go on.
The SV Sandhausen has clarified a central question of personnel for its announced reconstruction. With Olaf Janßen, a experienced coach takes over the coaching office at the third division relegation. The 58-year-old comes from the league competitor Viktoria Cologne and succeeds duo Dennis Diekmeier and Gerhard Kleppinger, who could not prevent the sporting crash on the penultimate place in the table.
As the club announced on Wednesday, Janßen will be officially presented on May 24th after the final in the Baden State Cup. Further details on the future sporting orientation should follow “in due course”. It has not yet been clarified who will take over the post of the sports director.
Janßen had already announced his farewell from Cologne in January. In the cathedral city he looked after the team for four and a half years. Before that, he worked as head coach at Dynamo Dresden, FC St. Pauli and VfB Stuttgart. As an assistant coach, he worked at Hertha BSC and VfL Wolfsburg alongside Bruno Labbadia.
SVS President Jürgen Machmeier described Janßen as a desired solution. “Our analysis led us to exactly this coaching profile, he is the right man, and we are convinced that we will find our lost DNA with Olaf Janßen,” said Machmeier. According to the association, the new trainer has experience in the development of young players and long -term thinking. He is also familiar with the requirements of a structural reconstruction.
