Benschop goes to Fortuna Sittard
SV Sandhausen posted another email on the transfer market on Deadline Day. VfB Stuttgart is loaning center forward Alou Kuol to the second division side for the rest of the season. The right-footer, who scored seven times in 18 games for the second substitution in the Southwest Regional League, is still under contract with the Swabians until 2025. “After Gianluca Gaudino asked for a loan and Charlison Benschop approached us with a request for release, we looked for a replacement. Alou made a highly motivated impression right from the start, given the opportunity to prove himself at SV Sandhausen,” said Mikayil Kabaca, sporting director in Sandhausen.
Stuttgart’s sporting director Sven Mislintat said: “Since moving from Australia to VfB in the summer, Alou has presented himself very well both in the training sessions and in the games of our U21s. The step into the second division is now absolutely the right challenge for Alou and makes a lot of sense for his further development.” SVS had already strengthened their squad on Monday with Maurice Deville (29), Tom Trybull (28) and Erich Berko (27). – a total of eight newcomers came in the winter.
In return, attacker Benschop (32) is leaving the club and moving to Fortuna Sittard in the Eredivisie until 2023. “His move to Fortuna Sittard in the Eredivisie in the Netherlands has personal and family reasons,” said sporting director Kabaca. “It was with a heavy heart that we agreed to this change and wish Charly all the best for his future.”
