SV Sandhausen are loaning Ahmed Kutucu back from Istanbul Basaksehir

From Istanbul Basaksehir

Second division club SV Sandhausen have extended the loan for center forward Ahmed Kutucu for another year. The 22-year-old played at Hardtwald last season during the second half of the season and scored one goal in ten games. His contract with the Turkish first division club Basaksehir, where Kutucu moved from FC Schalke 04 in the summer of 2021 for a fee of 500,000 euros, runs until 2025.

“We never lost contact with Ahmed. We wanted to continue the loan from both sides. Ahmed felt very comfortable at SV Sandhausen and he fits in very well with our team both personally and with our game philosophy. In addition, he will not have any adjustment problems and will help us from the start of the season,” said Sandhausen’s sporting director Mikayil Kabaca.

“Ahmed can be used variably on offense and thus expands our options in our attacking game. He also proved in the second half of the season that his mentality and attitude suits us very well,” added coach Alois Schwartz. Kutucu himself is looking forward to his return to Hardtwald: “I felt very comfortable in the second half of the season at SVS and would like to take this feeling with me into the new season. The talks with the club officials never ended, so I’m happy that the loan came about again. Since I already know the team and the environment well, I can join right away and I’m looking forward to the coming season.”
