The Berlin fashion label dog dog finally closes its doors.
Already in December, the Shape of Things GmbH, the company behind the label, announced bankruptcy at the Charlottenburg District Court, as Hund Hund then announced on the Instagram social media platform. The website remained closed until further notice and the processing of orders, reimbursements or vouchers was suspended. Now the final end follows.
On Instagram, the label announced a “Goodbye” hall in September. “We close the chapter dog dog with selected archive pieces and our last designs. What started in an apartment in Neukölln ends here – everything has to be out,” said the contribution published on Tuesday.
After eight years, the history of the Berlin label, founded in 2016, comes to an end. Hund Hund was founded by Rohan Michael Hoole and Isabel Kück and was considered a pioneer for transparency and sustainability in the fashion industry. The aim of the label was to create stylish, timeless and durable fashion for a “minimal wardrobe”, both for women and men and for dogs. Production took place fairly and locally in Europe, with a clear focus on ethical values and radical price transparency. Customers received insights into the entire supply chain, from the material costs to the profit margin.
The exact reasons for the bankruptcy are so far unclear. In December the label wrote: “We very much regret that we are currently unable to provide any more precise information, and we are sincerely sorry for what effects this message has.”
