A package with suspicious contents was seized in Emmen this afternoon. According to a police spokesperson, the package may contain a dangerous substance.
The report came in around 11.55 am, after the package was delivered to a house on Zuidlaarderbrink. The fire brigade took several measurements to find out whether a hazardous substance was actually present. An ambulance was also called as a precaution.
“Several attendees were checked at the scene by ambulance personnel, but no one was injured. It is still unclear whether the package actually contains a dangerous substance,” the spokesperson said.
The police are investigating further.
