At Willemsoord in Den Helder, the police are investigating a bag that probably contains explosives. Part of the area has therefore been cordoned off.
The report was received by the police at 9:15 p.m. It concerns a bag that hangs on the front door of a building. A police spokesperson speaks of ‘a quite suspicious situation’.
Part of Willemsoord has been cordoned off to check the bag for possible explosives. That will take some time, the spokesperson reports.
“You don’t just do that, everything is first cordoned off and measures are taken to do that safely. We are working on that now.”
The police reported on X, formerly Twitter, that two men drove away from the scene of the incident on a scooter just after 9:15 p.m. Witnesses and people in possession of camera images of the two men are asked to contact the police via 112.
