The facts took place in July 2024 during a Scoutskamp in Beringen in Limburg. The sea scouts of Nieuwpoort had put together a shower for the leaders and the cooking parents themselves. Just in that place they discovered a hidden camera after a few days.
At first it was unclear who the camera had placed in the shower. In January 2025, however, it became known that one of the cooking parents had made confessions. The suspect would have secretly made images of a man and a woman. Thanks to further investigation, however, ten adult victims could be identified. After all, the forties would not only have placed hidden cameras in a scouts camp in the summer of 2023, but also in the summer of 2023.
