The suspect Dafnon van der M. is on trial in the Netherlands for murder or manslaughter. This is done at the request of the Surinamese authorities. They asked the Netherlands to try Van der M. when it turned out that the man was in prison in France. There he was sentenced to five years in prison for a drug transport.
Following his prison sentence in France, he was transferred to the Netherlands. In interrogations, he confessed to shooting and also said he did so with a Glock. The judiciary does not believe that there was a severe storm, the court in Amsterdam revealed on Friday during the first preliminary session in the case.
The suspect was on duty as a guard at his mother’s shisha lounge on the day of the shooting. An argument arose in the case, after which Kida would have been evicted from the hookah cafe.
