In Meppel, a robbery took place at a snack bar on Woldstraat around noon. The police managed to arrest someone shortly afterwards.
It is not clear whether anything was stolen.
It is the third robbery in less than two weeks in the center of Meppel. A store was robbed in the same Woldstraat earlier this month. A week ago, a beauty salon just down the road on Touwstraat was targeted.
The police are investigating a connection between those two incidents. Today’s robbery is also included. “If there are multiple reports within a small area, we will of course look into that,” says a spokesperson.
There has been camera surveillance in the city center since last Friday. This is a temporary measure for at least four weeks. The cameras are located in Woldstraat and Touwstraat.
