Surveillance cameras film madness of drunk driver, who also bites a police officer during his arrest | Abroad

A 29-year-old drunk driver has made a real crazy ride with the car in the English town of Ashford. Passers-by saw how Ashmit Limbu (29) could hardly stand on his feet after a night in the club, but just got into the car. They notified the police, who were able to closely follow his ride via the network of surveillance cameras. It is those police images that have now been released, in the context of his trial.

On the images, which date from February 18, we see how Limbu’s car swerves through the streets from left to right. He ignores road markings, drives along the sidewalks and barely avoids a building on a street corner. Later he loses another hubcap in a minor collision and runs a red light.

Pee against lamppost

When Limbu is out of range of the cameras, the police decide to visit him at home, about 10 minutes outside the center. There he and another man are measuring the damage to his car. Although, according to the police, he was so drunk that he had to hold on to his car. When he also starts peeing against a lamppost in front of the officer, he decides that it is enough. But then Limbu gets aggressive and bites the cop on his right hand.

Eventually the police can arrest the man and take him to the hospital, where he still refuses to give a urine sample. Limbu is now charged with dangerous driving, refusing a sample for analysis, assaulting an aid worker and threatening the officer. He admits the facts and knows his sentence in July. Until then, he is free on bail.
