A mandatory bus combination applied yesterday for supporters of ADO Den Haag: a ticket for the stadium is so linked to a place in the bus. Yet sixty supporters also came to Volendam on their own, the police reported today. According to them, they had no valid tickets and were therefore not allowed to enter the stadium. They were not satisfied with that. “They broke through security and took a seat between the Volendam supporters. A steward was injured,” the police said. It created a tense atmosphere in the stadium and the game therefore started a little later.
After the game, supporters of FC Volendam confronted with the ADO supporters in the home section. Hereby they threw stones and bottles to the police. They would also like to throw stones at the buses with which ADO supporters had come. The police managed to prevent that, the ADO supporters who had come by bus combination could leave the stadium and continue their way home.
Police dog
The police say they were attacked several times last night by supporters of the home team. An agent with a police dog came in corner and had to be helped by other agents. “In addition, the service dog was kicked and the dog conductor had to keep people at a distance by beating them with the baton,” the police said.
