Supporters association PSV sends beleaguered Sevilla keeper flowers: ‘Apologies’

The PSV supporters association has sent Sevilla goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic flowers with a card as support. The Serbian was attacked by a PSV supporter in the final phase of the Europa League match between the two clubs on Thursday.

Dmitrovic quickly overpowered the 20-year-old fan, who had a stadium ban and was not allowed to be in the Philips stadium. Stewards and security guards eventually took the supporter away.

Apologies
“Apologies on behalf of all other supporters,” the supporters association wrote on the card. “We hope you are well after this incident. We wish you the best and success in the Europa League.”

The 20-year-old fan who attacked the goalkeeper is in prison and will remain there for the time being. The court extended the custody of the man from Roermond by fourteen days on Monday.
