Dozens of supporters and opponents were shouting directly opposite each other. The group of counter -protesters was first, just under a hundred people. Demonstrants threw a can and an egg towards the counter -protesters. Another demonstrator tried to go aggressively to the counter -protesters, but the police stopped him. The police were between the two groups and the group of demonstrators has just driven further away. There was also police on horseback. The atmosphere was pretty grim. Elsewhere there were dozens of protesters, but they are not looking for confrontation with the counter -protesters.
It became restless in the protesters group. An agent said that was because a person was arrested.
There were slogans like “azc, gone” and from the other side “not, not now, never again fascism” and “Nazis, go home.” There is also a sign with the text ‘More than 163,000 inhabitants and then no place for 300 people on the run? Come on Amersfoorters, city with a heart. ” The protesters have Dutch flags with them. There were also three prince flags, a symbol that was nowadays often used by the extreme right and earlier by the NSB. Protesters wear shirts with ‘fuck antifa’. Orange smoke also came from a firework pot.
Two people were arrested during the protest, one for insulting an agent one for throwing fireworks.
