Superstar raves after visiting Formula 1

With the 2021/22 biathlon season, Quentin Fillon Maillet has finally risen to become one of the greats in his sport. His superstar status has now brought the 29-year-old an invitation to the pits of Formula 1 racing team Alpine.

Biathlon figurehead Quentin Fillon Maillet looks back on a weekend full of highlights. The winter sports enthusiast was able to marvel at the Formula 1 Grand Prix up close in his home country of France.

Afterwards, the 29-year-old was overjoyed. “Two incredible days alongside the best riders in the world. Thanks Alpine for inviting me,” Fillon Maillet wrote on Instagram, where he posted a series of images and a video from the race.

The successful biathlete is very much in demand these days. The visit to the Formula 1 racing team Alpine, where the pilots Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon are in the cockpit, was just another highlight of the last few weeks.

Olympia, French Open, Tour: Fillon Maillet is everywhere

Fillon Maillet had previously been invited to the Tour de France, where he was allowed to ride in the support car, among other things. In June he was a guest at the French Open and then posted a picture with tennis stars Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. At Roland Garros he was asked to take over the draw for the Grand Slam matches.

Another career highlight was certainly his appointment as the French flag bearer at the Olympic Winter Games in Beijing. In China, the biathlete was one of the most successful athletes, returning home with two gold (individual, pursuit) and three silver medals (sprint, relay, mixed relay).

A few weeks later, Quentin Fillon Maillet also finished first in the Biathlon World Cup. He also won the sprint and the pursuit.

After the numerous visits to major sports competitions, the Frenchman will probably concentrate more on his goals for the 2022/23 biathlon season in the coming weeks. At the beginning of August, Quentin Fillon Maillet takes part in the Blinkfestivalen in Norway.
