The assignment was clear: win yourself and hope that competitor DSC loses. And exactly that scenario came true. After a nerve-wracking match, they won against DOS’46 (21-23) and finished ninth in the Korfball League. “I’m just exhausted, I have a headache,” says Machteld after the nerve-wracking match.
Always in the Korfball League
Blauw-Wit has played in the Korfball League since its founding in 2005. Together with PKC and Fortuna Delft, it is the only one that has played at the highest level from the start. “Thirty years of the Korfball League, you don’t want to just give that away,” says coach Dennis Doves. “This is very important for the feeling within the association.”
Despite the fact that Blauw-Wit ends the season in ninth place, decisive weeks still lie ahead. Starting next Tuesday with play-down matches against AW.DTV from Amsterdam. Then the return awaits on Saturday. The following week the decision will be made to determine whether Blauw-Wit will also play in the Korfball League next season.
