YUASA BATTERY GROTTAZZOLINA-RANA VERONA 0-3 (21-25, 17-25, 20-25)
—
Second full victory for Verona and second knockout which leaves Grottazzolina with zero points. Soli’s sextet was a steamroller, with its strong points in service and attack in a highly significant collective performance. It was child’s play for Christenson to unleash his guns, with Mozic and Darlan unstoppable and a lethal Keita. In the first set Golzadeh, in the third Tatarov, perhaps inserted too late, the Yuasa Battery tried to oppose a Rana who however always had control of the match, rejecting the sporadic attempts from Marche to get back into the game. Tomorrow the other matches of the second day of the championship with the match between Perugia and Civitanova.
First set that sees Verona start strong with Cortesia and Keita protagonists in 10-15. The Marchigians did not lose their composure, they established serve and attack, and thanks to the Iranian Golzadeh they gained parity in the final part of the set, which was then decided for the Venetians by Cortesia’s ace and Vitelli’s attack. In the second, Mozic and Keita’s show annihilates Grottazzolina who immediately breaks away in the score and Stankovic, with a few jolts on serve and block, is not enough to stop the winning ride of Soli’s team, the absolute master of the partial. In the third Tatarov gives a shock to Yuasa, who however remains three points behind and then gives in at the end under the blows of the blue Sani who scores the last points of the match.
