“It was just hard to survive the playoffs and feel all this back pain. I mean, nerve pain in the back is simply different. It is difficult to carry out rehabilitation or do something about it when something presses on your nerves. It is difficult to survive the day if you have this nerve pain,” said Jurgens.
Nevertheless, the former second-round pick did not miss a single playoff game because the sporting success was obviously more important to him than his own health.
“I really don’t know how I managed to play, but if you think of the Super Bowl, you jeopardize your body, it doesn’t matter,” said Jurgens. “This is what I want to say. In the end it was worth it.”

However, the 25-year-old would have liked to do without the highly controversial Push Tush due to his injury. “Everything was just shitty. But if you have an injured back and a nerve problem, it is difficult to go down and make a quarterback sneak over and over again,” said Jurgens, who wants to negotiate a new contract with the Eagles in the offseason.
“But that’s what is being called. At the end of the day I am a soldier,” added the center. “I just jeopardize everything for the team and whatever is being called or whatever I have to do, I will do.”
