Sunshine lures in Berlin and Brandenburg for Easter walks

Plenty of sunshine and spring-like temperatures took advantage of many people in Berlin and Brandenburg for an Easter walk.

On Easter Sunday, for example, people were out and about on Tempelhofer Feld on foot or by bicycle. They were sitting together in groups on the meadow, others had started their barbecue.

In Beelitz (Potsdam-Mittelmark), visitors flocked to the grounds of the state garden show (Laga), which only opened its doors on Thursday. By midday, 10,000 guests had been registered, said Laga spokesman Enrico Bellin on request.

Children looked for Easter eggs and small gifts, like in the park in Potsdam-Sanssouci or in the Wörlitzer Park. Boat trips on the Havel waters were also popular. The punts in the Spreewald were well booked and leisure paddlers were out and about on the rivers.

According to the German Weather Service in Potsdam, the air in Berlin warmed up to around 10 degrees by the afternoon. It should still be up to 15 degrees during the day. Because of a northerly air current, air did not warm up as quickly as hoped, it said. However, it stayed dry. Temporarily denser cloud fields in the Elbe-Elster area and in Lower Lusatia should clear up in the evening.

The night is forecast to be slightly cloudy or clear. Light frost may occur. Easter Monday will also be sunny. According to the German Weather Service, only a few cumulus clouds will appear in the afternoon and afternoon. The temperatures will therefore reach 14 to 16 degrees.
