High temperatures in summer tempt you to spend the day outside, whether at the stand, the lake or on your own balcony. But of course one should not be missing in a digital world: the smartphone. However, the problem here is the heat sensitivity of the devices.
Heat harms the devices
According to the news portal of the Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR), overheating the smartphone or other devices can destroy a variety of components. In addition to components such as the battery or the display, the processor can also break, for example, according to the portal. In direct sunlight and thus strong heat, the battery loses power or the device is no longer operational. Do not keep the devices in the freezer or refrigerator

According to the North Rhine-Westphalia Consumer Center, Apple even warns of operating iPhones at temperatures above 35 degrees.
Avoid cell phone covers from silicone
Thick cell phone cases made of silicone or neoprene caps the air circulation of the devices, since no fan is no longer installed in smartphones. So heat is released over the housing, according to the Portal Netzwelt. Therefore, additional heat is created in the device that cannot be removed. Instead, there are, for example, cell phone covers that have a cooling effect.
Do not leave the devices in the car
According to the NDR, interior temperatures of over 50 degrees are already in the blazing sun after a short time, which is why devices quickly overheat. The devices heat up quickly on the dashboard or other dark surfaces as well as behind glass panes.
The “h” in cell phone stands for dogs
A small anecdote of the Netzwelt portal contains a simple rule of thumb that serves to prevent overheated end devices: “Treat gadgets like a ‘pet'”.
