Summer at MAXXI 2022: events and program at the museum in Rome

No.new appointments with the MAXXI (National Museum of 21st Century Arts) in Rome. The museum has just communicated that the next September 13th will start again the #estatealMAXXI reviewan unprecedented opportunity to meet artists and works, with particular attention to all the arts. From architecture to books. From photography to theater and performances.

The MAXXI review begins with the memory of Letizia Battaglia

MAXXI is one of the most interesting realities of Italian culture. Just take a look at all the exhibits housed within the space designed by the architect Zaha Hadid to understand it. But also the meetings and initiatives that, throughout the year, give to the city and to all tourists a cultural proposal difficult to find elsewhere.

Some examples? The #estatealMAXXI review will start on Tuesday 13 September at 9.00 pm con the presentation of Being MAXXIthe intimate and formative story of five famous figures of Italian culture: Letizia Battaglia, Mario Cucinella, Piero Lissoni, Nicola Piovani and Michelangelo Pistoletto.

This format – which was born from the collaboration between Fremantle and MAXXI – will be broadcast on Rai 5 every Wednesday at 9.15 pm starting from September 14th. During the appointment of 13 September in the MAXXI square, the first episode will be previewed: a tribute to the figure of the first Italian female photojournalist Letizia Battaglia (passed away on April 13th). A tribute that starts from her love for Palermo. But not only the one overwhelmed by the facts of the Mafia, but that “little girl”, as she loved to call it. A first masterclass not to be missed …

Also a geopolitical study

The second appointment of the review conceived by the Foundation chaired by Giovanna Melandri brings us back to current events and the cultural, social and political needs of today. The meeting Contemporary Russia (Wednesday 14 September, 7.00 pm) will host the interventions of Mara Morini, Orietta Moscatelli and Nello Scavo. An in-depth analysis of today’s geopolitical scenariostarting from an analysis of Russian history.
