Summary: Green Yellow must win against KCC for direct enforcement in Korfball League

Green Yellow lost to KCC in the Korfball League. The team from Wormer had to do good business in its own hall for direct enforcement. Due to the 20-22 defeat, that seems to be a difficult story for Groen Geel.

Groen Geel knew in advance that it needed a good result against direct competitor KCC. The pre-game gap was four points in favor of the visitors. A victory had to give some confidence again as the last victory was already five games ago. Then the last runner Unitas was defeated.

Green Yellow started the important game badly. The team did not look sharp and immediately received a number of hits: 3-7. After that, Groen Geel somewhat straightened its back and managed to stay in the game. Despite the fact that it continued to miss many opportunities, it came to the same level due to a whim: 11-11. KCC accelerated just before the break and thus forced the 11-14 halftime score.

Exciting final phase

After the break, Groen Geel was more alert. Kevin Dik took the team by the hand. The Green Yellow player would eventually account for eight hits. Three minutes before the end, the home team came back to 20-20. In that phase, Groen Geel had hopes for more, but the KCC eventually took the win: 20-22.

After the defeat, Groen Geel is stuck in ninth place in the Korfball League with seven points. Thanks to the victory, KCC runs out to thirteen points. Blauw-Wit is eighth with eleven points. Next week Groen Geel will visit Amsterdam.
