Amsterdam had a tough time against the home team from Gorinchem in the first half. ZVG was much fiercer and took a comfortable 3-0 lead in the first half thanks to goals from Aboubakr Ouaddhouh, Mohamed Bounaj and Gerben Sozeyedio.
In the second half, Amsterdam had to chase and thanks to a striking free kick by Ismail Bouhalhoul, they came back into the match. When shortly afterwards Oscar Abouseada wonderfully pegged the ball into the intersection, the home team became nervous.
