The dating application Hinge planned to challenge Tinder in 2012. The competition ended when Tinder, which owns Tinder, bought Hinge in its entirety in 2019.
Originally, Hinge’s most notable feature was that the app was able to connect to Facebook, where it searched for potential matches through the user’s mutual friends.
