Bayer Leverkusen confirmed it on Monday: Erik Ten HAG takes over the coaching job of Xabi Alonso. The latter is on the sidelines at Real Madrid in the new season.
After the cancellation of CESC Fabregas, the Bayer managers quickly created facts. What media previously reported is now certainty: the Dutch ten HAG will be the new trainer in Leverkusenwhile his predecessor Alonso Real Madrid will already look after the club World Cup in the USA in mid-June.

“With Erik Ten HAG we rely on an experienced trainer with impressive sporting success. His six title winnings with Ajax Amsterdam were extraordinary,” says Bayer Managing Director Simon Rolfes.
