SUAL Partners (one of the shareholders of UC Rusal, owns 25.72%, belongs to Viktor Vekselberg and partners) considers the salary of the chairman of the board of directors of Rusal, Bernard Zonneveld, to be biased, the company said in a statement received by RBC.

“SUAL Partners considers the remuneration of the chairman of the board of directors to be inconsistent with his contribution to ensuring that the company adheres to generally accepted principles of corporate governance and the interests of all shareholders of the company and will continue to seek a more objective assessment of the work of the board,” SUAL said.

At the beginning of the Forbes week published the results of a study of remuneration of members of the boards of directors of the largest Russian companies, which was conducted by the consulting company Korn Ferry. Zonneveld topped the list: his base remuneration in 2020 amounted to 123.7 million rubles.

In second place was the chairman of the board of directors of Norilsk Nickel, Gareth Penny (72.7 million), in third place was the chairman of the board of directors of Rosneft, Gerhard Schroeder (43.6 million).
