The new owner of Amusement Park Drouwenerzand immediately wanted to put a cheerful calling card in his park. And so he placed a dolmen with the park mascot on top. “I was so enthusiastic that I was not aware that I needed a permit for that,” Kevin Moespot admits laughing.

The artwork has been pontifically in front of the hotel for six months. The costs? Half a ton. But an objection from a local residents ensures that the image must be removed.

“Yes, it’s actually a stupid and expensive joke,” Moespot admits. “Naive too. Soon the phone call came from the municipality that this is not possible without a permit.”

An attempt was made to get a permit, but without success. “I’m not going to struggle it. Very unfortunate, also for the villagers who just enjoyed it. But it has to go.”

The artwork is not completely lost. Together with the municipality, a new place is being looked at. “Maybe it will be on the bungalow park. It is removable, although that is not easy. But somewhere he will get a place again.”

Before November 1, the image must in any case disappear from its current location.

Despite the mistake, the owner has more new ideas. For example, a new ‘roller coaster’ is planned for 2026. What kind of one does not want to say yet. Moespot will also visit a fair later this month to get inspiration for more new attractions.
