“At the moment there are still good clear skies and the sun is shining in many places,” says Visser. The weather changes quickly from noon onwards.

“This results in the formation of large clouds that develop into showers. The heaviest showers are probably inland. There is therefore a greater chance of thunder, hail and gusts of wind, but that can also happen locally in our area.”

Cool and changeable

At about 17 degrees it feels a lot fresher than the past few days. The wind increases in the afternoon to wind force 5 to 6.

The KNMI warns that traffic and outdoor activities in particular may be affected by the thunderstorms. The heaviest showers will disappear during the evening.

Better weather only at the weekend

Tomorrow it will remain changeable with lots of clouds and local showers. The temperature remains around 17 degrees.

According to Visser, little will change on Thursday and Friday, because a low-pressure area will again pass over the country.

“We only see an improvement during the weekend,” says the weatherman. “There will still be some clouds on Saturday, but more sun with higher temperatures from Sunday.”

The temperature will rise to 22 to 23 degrees on Sunday and may rise further to 24 to 25 degrees early next week.
