Entering what could be the third heat wave so far this summer, and with the last few weeks marked by high temperatures, the Meteorological Service of Catalonia (Meteocat) has sent a warning for “violent storm” in three Catalan counties.
According to the service, there was a high probability that this Friday afternoon it would fall hail more than two centimeters in diameter and gusts of wind that could exceed 25 meters per second.
Thus, for the prevention of the high risk involved, they have issued the warning with the highest degree of danger (six over six) in the garrotxa Y the Ripollès and with a high risk in Alt Empordà. As part of the storm, Meteocat has warned that they can form tornadoes and whirlpools.
