Taylor attended the press conference as captain of Ajax. Despite the painful defeat, he saw positives. “The way we play the first 20 to 25 minutes should become the norm. Ultimately, a match lasts 90 or 95 minutes, so that is not enough. The ball is round, we have to give everything and go for it,” Taylor gets people laughing.
There is a lot less to laugh about for Heitinga after the first league defeat against AZ. He judged that Ajax started well. “During training I see how eager the boys are, you are only the matches. The boys know the phase we are in now. A few people are walking away, but we still have to take steps and that takes time.”
