Headlines away from the square
Lemperle had gotten into the headlines shortly before the end of the season because of his behavior away from the square. The 23-year-old had been heavily drunk a week before the season finale. He suffered a broken nose from an assault. Equipped with a special mask, it was enough for a short assignment in the last game of the season.
“I was not aware of what unrest could arise before such an important game as against Lautern. I am infinitely sorry, and I know that I disappointed many of you through my behavior,” wrote the 23-year-old in a contribution on Instagram.
