A new strike action by the guards will start in the prison of Bruges tonight at 10 o’clock. The staff of the Flemish prisons have been taking action all week. The unions are addressing the violence against staff. Every year, 300 guards are injured due to aggression from detainees. Both lawyers and prison guards testify that the situation is also deteriorating within the Bruges prison.
