Strengthens Jong Ajax beats VVV-Venlo, while Jong AZ is left empty-handed

Jong Ajax, with Diant Ramaj, Anass Salah-Eddine and Anton Gaaei in the starting line-up, defeated VVV-Venlo by a wide margin: 3-0. The evening in Limburg was a lot less rosy for Jong AZ: 3-1.

The Amsterdam promises took the lead through Kristian Hlynsson. The captain placed a free kick into the Venlo goal: 1-0. Anass Salah-Eddine was responsible for the second Ajax goal after half an hour. He made it 2-0 from close range. That was also the halftime score.

Goalkeeper Diant Ramaj proved his worth in the second half by stopping what looked like a tying goal. He was also important in the third goal. He shot a long ball towards Mika Godts, who spooned the ball into the far corner.

Due to the international break, Jong Ajax will not be in action next week. The next match for the new number 18 is against FC Dordrecht. The kick-off is on October 20 at 8:00 PM.

Jong AZ faced a difficult away match against leader Roda JC. The Limburgers took the lead after half an hour. The maker of the 1-0 was Sami Ouaissa. He also scored Roda’s second goal just before half-time. The midfielder was attentive to a rebound from goalkeeper Rome-Jayden Owusu-Oduro. The halftime score here was also 2-0.

The team from Kerkrade was heading for an easy victory, but that changed after a tying goal from Lewis Schouten: 2-1. Roda made it 3-1 via Walid Ould-Chikh (the loanee from FC Volendam).

Jong AZ remains thirteenth in the first division due to the defeat. TOP Oss is the next opponent on October 20.
