The hockey matches from the Dutch premier league can be seen on Viaplay in the coming years. The new streaming platform has won the broadcasting rights. The international matches of Orange can still be seen on Ziggo Sport and partly via the NOS.

Viaplay entered the Dutch market at the beginning of this year. The streaming service bought, among other things, the broadcasting rights of Formula 1, which was previously broadcast via Ziggo. Only Viaplay subscribers can see all performances of world champion Max Verstappen live in the Netherlands. Viaplay also acquired the broadcasting rights of, among others, the English and German football leagues and darts. The package is now being expanded to include all major league hockey matches for men and women.

“This fits perfectly with our objective to continuously improve the quality of top hockey in the Netherlands, to continue to professionalize the main division and to increase the fan base for top hockey”, says chairman Tjeerd Boven of the Hockey Hoofdklasse cv (HHcv), the umbrella organisation. body of clubs from the height department.
