The long-awaited new record from the Red Hot Chili Peppers is finally out. Unlimited Love, which also features John Frusciante for the first time since 2006, is available now. In the interview for the current ROLLING STONE issue, we talk to Anthony Kiedis and Flea about the process of making the record.

“Unlimited Love” was produced by Rick Rubin and consists of 17 tracks. Announcing the new album in February, the band said: “We long to bring light into the world, to uplift, to connect and to bring people together. Each of the songs on our new album Unlimited Love is a facet of us and reflects our view of the universe.”

The somewhat melodramatic news could also be related to the return of guitarist John Frusciante, which fans have been waiting for for a long time. Frusciante was involved in the band’s best-known albums in the 1990s and 2000s, until he left the band in 2006 after the album Stadium Arcadium. Josh Klinghoffer took over Frusciante’s part in the following years. In 2019 he left the band and Frusciante was able to return to the band.

At the same time as the album release, the Red Hot Chili Peppers also released a music video for their single “These Are the Ways”. The video was directed by Malia James. Here you can see the video:

The singles “Black Summer”, “Poster Child” and “Not the One” from “Unlimited Love” have already been released. It follows the previous album The Getaway, released in 2016. You can listen to the full album stream here:

This summer, the Red Hot Chili Peppers will embark on an extensive stadium tour with “Unlimited Love” supported by A$AP Rocky, Thundercat, Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, Beck, The Strokes, HAIM, King Princess and St. Vincent will. The tour will also take her to Germany for two concerts in Hamburg and Cologne. Tickets for the tour are available here.
